2. Confined water diving - to learn basic skills.

PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to:
•Dive to 12 metres/40 feet under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.
•Obtain refills, rent or purchase equipment, and participate in dive activities, as long as you are properly supervised.
•Continue training by earning the PADI Open Water Diver certification and enrolling in certain specialty courses.
To enroll in a PADI Scuba Diver (or Junior Scuba Diver) course you must be at least 10 years old. You must have adequate swimming skills and be in good health. No previous scuba diving experience is required, but you can try the Discover Scuba Diving program first.
The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:
• Knowledge Development (online, self-study or in class) - To understand the basic principles of diving, only the first three of the five sections of the Open Water Diver course
• Confined Water Dives: To learn basic diving skills, only the first three of the five dives of the Open Water Diver course.
• Open Water Dives - to use your skills and explore, just two of the four dives on the Open Water Diver course.
You will learn how to use basic equipment, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, BCD and a tank. The equipment you use will differ depending on whether you dive in tropical, temperate or cold waters. Your PADI Instructor will explain the equipment you will need.
